A Word from Chad

FBC Tupelo is gearing up for a busy summer! There are a number of mission trips, VBS, student trips, children’s camp, and other exciting activities to keep the summer hopping! Let me encourage you to participate in as many of these events as possible, and have your children engaged in activities with Christian influence.

There is definitely a buzz about what God is doing at FBC Tupelo since we began our new schedule. I can’t thank you enough for inviting people to our services--friends, acquaintances, and people with whom you come in contact during the week. God is honoring the efforts, and we had an unbelievable number in our Easter services. Souls are being saved and God is changing lives, which is the purpose of the three services. We had a great number in Grow Groups, but we could easily have had 1000. I know many of you are still visiting in at least two services to determine which one best suits your needs, but as your pastor, I want to remind you of the importance of Grow Groups, during which you grow deeper in God’s Word as you study with other members of the body and during which you develop the deep relationships through fellowship of class members. It is the Grow Group members that often best meet your needs in times of crisis. I want to encourage you to decide within the next two to three weeks which service you wish to attend. All three services have exactly the same gospel message presented. The worship through music is basically the greatest difference. Please spend the other hour at FBC in a Grow Group. You won’t regret it! We have the best teachers anywhere, so don’t miss the breaking of bread together in the small group setting.

As we have stated, these are exciting times at FBC Tupelo. God is working in amazing ways. On Saturday, May 3, you will have an opportunity to meet Carrie DeVenny, the candidate our Children’s Search Ministry Team believes is the next person to serve with us at FBC. From 3:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m., we will have a reception for Carrie in the Grand Hall. Following that (at 4:30 p.m.), Carrie will meet with the children and parents in the Church Street Café for a question and answer session. Sunday, May 4, Carrie will give a brief testimony in each of the morning services. We will take a vote following each service, and the results will be announced Sunday night. Please pray as God continues to work in our midst in ways that only He can!
