“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed/ And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent?” — Romans 10:13-15

2010 MISSION OPPORTUNITIES

2010 On-Going Community Ministries

Community Apartment Ministry
This ministry outreach meets each Sunday afternoon from 1:30-3:30 at a local apartment complex in Tupelo. Participants can serve weekly or on a rotating basis. Participants can sign-up by contacting the church office. All participants must complete a forty-five minute training session prior to working with this ministry. Participants will lead out in Bible Study, Ladies Discipleship, Crafts, One-on-One Mentoring, Serving Snacks and Loving on Children. You will be blessed as a result of sharing Jesus with children and adults in your own city who have never heard the name of Jesus or of His great love for them.  During the month of March, FBC Tupelo will start a second community outreach ministry. The focal point of this ministry will be in the Barnes Crossing area of Tupelo. Please be praying about your involvement in this outreach ministry. We need your service in order to provide excellence in this new outreach ministry point.

Community Prayer Walking
No experience needed for this mission journey. Our goal is to pray over this city- street by street and house by house. Will you adopt a section of Tupelo and pray over that section of the city. We will have information that you can leave at each home as you walk your adopted section of Tupelo. Individuals, Sunday School Classes or other small groups can team together to cover this city in prayer. Henry Blackaby says, “Prayer always precedes any great move of God.” Will you commit to pray over Tupelo and ask God to move in a mighty way over this city that people’s hearts will turn to Him in repentance and ultimately that revival would spread from Tupelo to every nation, tribe and tongue? How amazing to know that your prayers can change the world.

Neighborhood Block Party
Do you know your neighbors? Do your neighbors know Jesus Christ in a personal relationship? When was the last time your neighborhood came together in the street for a time of fellowship and “getting to know you” time?   Will you help us reach this city by reaching your neighborhood? The process is really simple. You schedule a time when you would like to do a block party and we will provide the cards for you to tell your neighbors about the party and the resources you need to complete a great block party. By using the Lovin’ Our Community Ministry Trailer, you will be able to provide big inflatable jumps for the children, snow-cones, grilled hot dogs or hamburgers, and many activities for the children. What a great opportunity to get the neighbors out and get to know their stories! Throw a party and reach the neighborhood at the same time. Hey, don’t forget to invite them to the greatest church in Tupelo. Yep, that’s right FBC is the place to be!

Mission Tupelo

Mission Tupelo is a vision dream aimed at providing outreach to our community during the Christmas season. The goal is to provide a place where families can come and hear a presentation of the gospel while being ministered to. Families can participate in a guided “Christmas shop” and choose gifts for their family at Christmas time. If you are interested in being a member of this initial planning group, please enlist today. This mission is modeled after the Christmas store at Mission Arlington. Please pray for the needs associated with starting a ministry of this magnitude.   The team will need supplies, a location for ministry and a large support staff to bring this dream to reality.
